“Know yourself, go to the very core of your being, there you’ll find healing” (ancient greek saying)

Our self and its coping strategies take shape mainly but not exclusively during our childhood. Psychiatric disturbances and crises are manifestations of disruptions in our relationship to ourselves and to others. These occur when our self is unable to cope with its actual situation using its habitual coping strategies, and feels contradictory needs which end up paralyzingly us and bringing us into conflict with ourselves and/or our environment.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
